Revision of the loach genus Afronemacheilus (Teleostei: Balitoridae: Nemacheilinae) with description of a new species from the Omo-Turkana basin, Ethiopia

The African stone loach genus Afronemacheilus is revised. The type species, A. abyssinicus, is re-described.
Afronemacheilus kaffa, new species, is described from two localities in the middle reaches of the Gojeb River drainage, Omo-Turkana basin, in south-western Ethiopia. The species are distinguished from each other in position of nares, intestine structure, and coloration.
